Four new MAN TGS four-axle tippers for British plant hire company Mone Bros

Mone Bros, a construction industry company based in Leeds, England, recently acquired four MAN TGS 35.420 8×4 BB units. The four-axle tippers are equipped with a 12.4-litre six-cylinder in-line engine developing 420 hp (309 kW) and an M-cab. Their payload is more than 19 tonnes.

MAN developed the TGS series specially for construction industry applications. The robust yet lightweight four-axle chassis is ideal for the tough demands of on- and off-road use in the construction industry. The comfortable M-cab provides drivers with a top-class working environment.

The versatility of the new four-axle tipper enables Mone Bros to deploy them at its four sites as well as on customer construction projects, mainly transporting spoil, excavated material and demolition waste. They will also supply natural stone, aggregates, recycled building materials, sand and gravel throughout the company’s home county of Yorkshire and far beyond.

“The introduction of our new MAN tippers is a key step in our fleet expansion and renewal program,” explains Mone Bros director Phil Mone. “We are committed to delivering top performance for our customers. With the new MAN wagons we will be able to keep doing that. Feedback from our drivers is extremely positive, the fuel consumption is very good, and the level of support we receive from the dealer is above expectation”.

Over the past six months, Mone Bros has taken delivery of several MANs, including a TGS 35.420 tipper and two other TGS 35.420 chassis units currently being fitted with bodies by L Townend. Two more MAN TGS 8×4 chassis units will be delivered this year.

Estabilshed in 1965, Mone Brothers has grown over five decades to become one of the UK’s largest suppliers of plant equipment, building materials and recycling services to the UK construction industry. The family-run business employs over 70 skilled people, and offers a diverse range of products and services.
