Otokar, Turkey’s leading bus brand will showcase two of its buses at the 67th edition of IAA Commercial Vehicles 2018 in Hannover, Germany. Otokar, which contributes modern public transportation in 50 countries including Turkey with its buses, will launch the new Ulyso into the German market during the 7-day exhibition. Otokar will also exhibit Kent C buses at IAA whose CNG powered version will operate firstly in Spain.
Otokar, a Koç Group company, will exhibit its buses, widely preferred in a number of countries from Italy and Germany to Jordan and Malta, at the IAA Commercial Vehicles 2018, the world’s leading trade show for transport, logistics and mobility. During the 67th edition of IAA Commercial Vehicles in Hannover, Germany on September 20-27, 2018, Otokar will showcase Kent, the public transportation bus that stands apart with its design, technology and ergonomics, and the new Ulyso bus for tourism. Otokar’s 10-meter long tourism bus Ulyso will make its debut in Hannover and introduced to German operators.
OTOKAR BUSES, THE CHOICE OF 50 COUNTRIES
Otokar General Manager Serdar Görgüç pointed out that the company has been awarded a number of important bus contracts and signed deals abroad recently, “In its 55th anniversary in the industry, Otokar keeps increasing its market share in the European market with a broad range of buses. Currently, more than 35 thousand buses are transporting passengers in 50 countries, and in particular France, Italy, Spain and Germany. In the first quarter of 2018, we signed an agreement for 34 buses to operate in Warsaw, an agreement with the Amman Municipality for a 100-bus contract, and more recently an agreement with the Bucharest Municipality for the largest export contract in history that a Turkish bus brand is awarded in one contract. Bucharest, which is one of the oldest settlements in the world and a city of tourism, has been using Otokar buses in public transportation for 12 years. The new order of 400 buses, which will be customized for the needs and expectations of Bucharest, will be delivered in parties this year and next year.”
KENT C CNG BUSES FOR SPAIN
Otokar has recently registered the first European order of Kent C CNG in Spain for 9 units for the city Jerez de la Frontera (Cadiz). “Spain is one of the major bus markets in Europe. We are glad that 2018 is a record year for Otokar, our sales increased by 27% up to end of August. The first exports of our Kent C CNG buses will also be for Spain; the vehicles will begin operating in the next year” Serdar Görgüç said.

Our vehicle park is growing by the day in Western and Eastern Europe as well as the Middle East and North Africa regions.”
ULYSO’S LAUNCH ONTO GERMAN MARKET IN HANNOVER
At the IAA Commercial Vehicles 2018, Otokar will host the Germany launch of Ulyso, developed for intercity and tourism transportation and offered with this brand in international markets. Reminding that the Uylso presented last year in Busworld Europe as a première, Mr. Görgüç said; “The Ulyso is now in operation in France, Italy, Belgium, Sweden, and Spain. At IAA we are launching the Ulyso to the German operators. We are also proud to start cooperation with the Berlin public transport network with the delivery of 5 Vectio C.”

The Ulyso is designed in line with user needs and reflects Otokar’s new design philosophy.
